When
the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the
first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of
the tomb?” Mark 16:1-3 (NIV)
It may be all of human being question at one point of their life, especially those who are prosecuted because of Jesus’ name. Who will move the stone for me?
In broken relationships, in financial struggles, in losing the loved once, in different challenges of life in general when we feel helpless we ask the same
question that Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome asked when
they are going to the tomb.
But
after they were discussing about the stone while looking at each other suddenly they took a
moment to look up. They lifted up their eyes from themselves and looked up. And
then, on verse 4 it continues “But when they looked up, they saw that the
stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.” After the decisive word
“BUT” everything has changed.
Are
you in that moment? Do you feel that there is a stone that block you from the
entrance of your victory? Do you feel that it is too big to be moved away? Then
lift your eyes up, as the Psalmist said it in Psalm 121, your help comes from
the Lord. The risen King is your helper and He neither slumber nor sleep. Keep
your faith and continue trusting Him. Because He is ALIVE and watch over you. No stone is too big for Him to be moved.
Psalm 121 (NIV)
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where
does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the
Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he
who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will
neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the
Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor
the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he
will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both
now and forevermore.
